About Me

Regan Latta, L.U.T.C.F.
I was
born
in Moline, Illinois, the son of a Pentecostal preacher and church
builder, Sam Latta. I have two
brothers and a sister. When I was five years old, my family moved
to Liberia, West Africa. We lived in the jungle, in a house
made of sticks and mud. We had no airconditioning, but we had hot
and cold running water. We had no glass windows, just screens,
and wooden shutters to keep the roaming Leopards out at night. We
had no car, but we had an airplane, which my father flew in order to go
into the city for supplies. I was home schooled, until half way
through the third grade. Liberia
is located on the equator, and right on the coast, so I recall it was
hot and humid year round. My dad is a builder, and he built
several
churches
and schools in Liberia. After a year in the jungle, my dad
crashed the plaine, after a brake failure, which eliminated our
source of transportation
and supplies in the jungle.

So we were whisked away to the city of
Monrovia, where we lived the next three years, while my dad built another church. We lived at an
airport and on the beach. My mother continued to home school me,
while my sibs went to an American private school.
When I was nine years old, we moved to Bloomington, Illinois, where we
lived another seven years. My dad pastored a church there, and oversaw a
major remodeling of theFirst Pentecostal Church. |

I attended
public school in the twin city of Normal, Illinois till the tenth
grade. I returned to home schooling, in 1976, because we were
moving back to Africa. This time we moved to Salisbury Rhodesia,
in Southern Africa. At the time Rhodesia was involved in a civil
war. My dad built a church in the city of Salisbury, which was
later renamed Harare, when the war ended. Rhodesia, became
Zimbabwe. I returned to the states in 1978, to escape being
drafted into the war there. My parents remained behind in
Rhodesia, another six years. I landed in Houston, Texas where I
have lived ever since.
I attended college here, at Texas Bible College,
and received my degree in Theology in 1982. I began working in
the insurance business in December of 1982. I opened and operated
agencies in shopping malls for a local broker, until 1986, when I became an agent for
Farmers Insurance Group. My first office was located in River
Oaks, on Kirby Drive. I moved my office to the north side of
Houston in 1996, and then to Spring, in 2006. My office is at the
entrance to the subdivision where I live.
I am married to Carla, and together we have five
children. My oldest brother Alan & his wife Yvette, are the pastors of Generations Church
in Granbury, Texas. My sister Gayla and her husband Greg pastor New Life
Christian Fellowship, in LaPorte, Texas. My other brother Marvin and his wife Lisa live
in Atlanta Georgia. He is a gospel musician, and owns his own paint
contracting business, "The Particular People's Painter". My
parents have settled down in Atlanta, Georgia where they pastor the
Acts Church.
